The Kariya Family

Navel Oranges, Valencia Oranges

Star Ruby Grapefruit

How we got here.

Our grandparents and folks moved to beautiful Pauma Valley in 1960. At the time they were vegetable farmers in Buena Park, but they fell in love with this valley when they first saw it. Growing citrus was new to them, and they saw a lot of opportunity here in growing oranges.

The next generation.

We are so fortunate with the community we have here in Pauma Valley. My dad and my uncle knew everybody here, and we still benefit today from growers who were farming when my folks were alive. Now their kids are running the family farms, and they will probably run ours one day, too.

What I love about being a Sunkist grower.

Living here is like being on vacation. It’s a beautiful place to be and it’s relaxing at the same time. So even though you’re working hard raising the best fruit you can, you still have a fantastic life and have all these friends and neighbors here to socialize with.
