Meyer Lemons, ZebraTm (Pink Variegated) Lemons

How we got here.

Before we bought this ranch in the early 1980s, we had a wily old realtor who was also a lemon grower. He walked us down the rows and pulled a lemon off a tree. He took out a knife and cut it in half right there in the orchard. The aroma of that lemon that morning sold me on the whole idea. I knew I’d be a lemon grower from that day on.

The next generation.

I’ve lived on this farm for more than 30 years, and the lemon trees were quite old when we first started farming. We wanted to plant something new, but we knew this land was perfect for citrus. So we decided to try different varieties of lemons and see how they would do…that’s what I see happening here at Fig Tree Farms for years to come.

What I love about being a Sunkist grower.

I love the smell of the soil, I love the sun on the trees, and I love to see the little ones get big. The aroma of the lemon is wonderful, the blossoms are wonderful and I think I’m the luckiest person in the world to have ended up growing lemons in Ventura County.
