How we got here.
My family has been farming citrus in Coastal California for five generations, and we’ve always lived right smack in the middle of the lemon orchards. I’m the oldest of seven, and I still remember the day my father asked me if I wanted to learn more about growing lemons – and join the family farming business.
The next generation.
Even though I chose to continue our family’s legacy, there was never any expectation that any of our kids would go into farming. So when my son Ned mentioned he was interested in ranching as a career, I was thrilled. It’s probably how my parents felt when I came into the family business, realizing that it’s time to pass the knowledge along to the next generation.
What I love about being a Sunkist grower.
It’s a lot of work, but being a farmer means you get to live in a peaceful, beautiful place all year round.
